Jam on the cheek, toast on the ear [open]

Emily had gotten up her eyes sparkling for the new day. She had gotten out of bed and gotten ready as usual, joining Alec downstairs until he decided to meet Dani and Em being the 'OHSONICE' bestie that she was, had decided to leave them both to some Alec and Dani time, not that they didn't get enough as it was.

This meant that she was walking through the halls to breakfast on her own, left to her own thoughts as she walked slowly through hardly in a hurry at all. Breakfast was breakfast. Emily's stomach wasn't even rumbling, she missed the chatter that surrounded her, it wasn't late so people were still walking in after her. A small crowd of people filing through the narrow door.

Rolling her eyes, Emily waited until there was a small gap and shoved herself through and to a seat well away from the entrance. She sat down by herself, a little irritated at the fact she couldn't see anyone else she knew yet. Alec had yet to appear, though for all she knew he was probably off with Dani somewhere, or just stuck in the crowd. Emily rather she didn't know.

Yawning and bringing a hand up to her face she looked at the food in front of them, a feast she was sure she wasn't exactly hungry for at this time in the morning. Picking up a slice of toast, Emily dropped it on her plate and searched for the jam. Strawberry jam, raspberry jam where on earth was the black cherry jam. Honestly. They had so many elves and not enough jams.

Finally spotting it in between the pancakes and the syrup, Emily hastily picked up the small jar. Scooping out a heavenly helping, she looked around the room once again for her friends. Someone would join her soon, dragging her knife across her toast she spread the jam somewhat evenly.

Emily picked up the jug of orange juice in front of her and began to pour herself a glass, talk about a complete loner. Hopefully someone would come along soon, this was not a great start to a day otherwise. She wondered if things would need spicing up a little later, if the time called Emily supposed.

[Alec Edwards]

Alec had just finished seeing Dani just before breakfast. The rule was that they were allowed to sit wherever they wanted during breakfast, but Gabrielle and Alec had established long ago that breakfast time was when Gabrielle would sit with Danielle. Alec would see her halfway through lunch, and at dessert. And sometimes, just to be annoying, he would pop up whenever he spotted Danielle and Gabrielle walking through the halls. It was a good system, but sometimes Alec wondered how Danielle felt being passed from one person to another. Alec knew that he wouldn’t enjoy it, and because of this, tried to leave Danielle alone for at least one day each week.

Today was that day. Alec saw Dani about five minutes earlier, and was now making his way to the Dining Hall for some breakfast. His stomach rumbled as if to tell him to hurry up, but Alec was enjoying his leisurely walk to the Dining Hall. And it didn’t help that there was a massive group in front of the door trying to get into the hall. Alec rolled his eyes as he waited for the group to part, or at least get smaller. It looked like that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. Sighing, Alec crossed his arms over his chest, frowning as he watched the older students shove the younger students out of the way. Normally Alec would be joining the older students in the younger students shoving, but not today. At least, not until his stomach let out an especially loud grumble.

Uncrossing his arms, Alec forced his way through the crowd, pushing students out of his way left, right and center. Finally he fell through the crowd into the Dining Hall. Smiling triumphantly, Alec scanned the Dining Hall for Emily. She’d left him with Dani earlier, saying that she was going to come and get some breakfast. Finally he spotted her by herself, eating a piece of toast with what was obviously black cherry jam. Emily was addicted to the stuff. Alec made his way over to his best friend, and slid into the seat across from her. He reached across the table and grabbed a piece of her black cherry jam toast. Grinning, he took a bite out of it. “You looked pretty lonely. Don’t you have any friends other than me?” he asked.

Emily was surprised at how quickly Alec made it to the table, she was thinking it would be longer but if she could recall correctly today was the day they tried to leave each other alone. He was doing well. Eying the piece of toast he had so expertly sneaked from her plate, Emily rolled her eyes, "I do. You're in their seat. And THEY don't steal my toast" She said seriously, glaring at him for a moment longer until she took another bite, chewed and swallowed. "No Dani today then?" Emily asked, just to double check. She would get annoyed if she suddenly came over to steal Alec away. She would prefer to know in advance, "Because, I had an idea" She smirked, glancing around.

The teachers were busy talking, and as her eyes scanned the room they fell on the one girl they were talking about. Danielle Hale was talking to her best friend Gabrielle, nasty girl but Emily had to deal, for Alecs sake. "Not to mention, I do think things are looking a bit too clean around here" She shrugged, licking her lips as she tapped her fingers mindlessly on the table. "Although, question is how to start it" Emily pouted, her head lifting up until she tilted it to the side. "Unless..."

She leaned back, "Alec?" Emily grinned, "All you need to do is just chuck ...that at" She turned around, looking for the perfect target. "Her!" Emily pointed at the back of a girls head, "I'll chuck something too... if you want" She folded her arms, "If you don't want to?" Emily had the perfect target in mind, picking up a spoon. She dug it into the cherry jam and turned it around holding the back of it like a catapault. "Yeah?" Although her hair would get a mess, it would take a fair few things to get the ball rolling but once everybody was in they would have a laugh.

Alec grinned as Emily glared at him for stealing her toast, taking a large bite just to annoy her. “No Dani today then?” Alec shook his head as he took another piece of toast from her plate. “Because, I had an idea.” Alec looked up from his toast, his eyes sparkling with interest at the smirk on Emily’s face. “Hit me with it”, Alec said. From the look on Emily’s face, whatever she had planned was seriously against the rules. That made Alec all the more interest. His complete lack of regard for authority figures was no secret to anyone. Alec would do whatever he liked, whenever he liked, regardless of what anyone said.

Emily glanced around, and Alec followed her gaze somewhat. The teachers were too busy talking to notice anything (not to mention Professor Baker and Professor Gaiman were too busy trying to avoid each other’s gazes). “Not to mention, I do think things are looking a bit too clean around here.” Alec’s eyes lit up as he finally caught on to what Emily was planning. A food fight! Yes! Why hadn’t he thought of it first? Probably because he was too busy thinking of other crap to do. But still. A food fight was a perfect idea. Alec grinned at his friend to show her he approved of the idea. “Although, question is how to start it.” Emily pouted as she thought of how to start the food fight.

Then she was telling Alec what he could throw, and at whom. Alec shook his head slightly as he looked at the target Emily had picked out for him. Some girl. A grin spread across his face. He reached across the table for a pancake, and sprayed some whipped cream onto it. Aiming carefully, he squinted a bit before throwing the pancake. It hit the back of the girl’s head, and stayed there. Alec lowered his arm and picked up some toast, taking a bite of it as he looked around innocently. The girl’s shouts of surprise could be heard over the rest of the noise in the Dining Hall. Alec looked at the teachers, but they hadn’t noticed anything. Yet.

Emily was pleased that Alecwas up for it, if he wasn't she was just going to throw the jam at him. Instead, she aimed right over his shoulder onto the table behind him flicking the jam as hard as she could, Emily was pleased to hear a delightful splat as she scooped up another lot of jam quickly and did the same thing only, further to the right. She watched the black cherry jam fly through the air towards Danielle Hale hitting the side of her face and dripping into her hair, Emily dropped the spoon and searched for more materials. She looked around with a frown, hoping that it wasn't exactly the most obvious thing in the world, then again Gabrielle Amorcya would kick up a fuss, although Dani probably would too.

The teachers didn't quite notice although she was sure she saw Professor Gaiman smirking. Emily grabbed the spoon and chucked it under the table, Dani was wiping the jam off of her face and glaring in her general direction but Emily didn't think she had seen. Alec would probably rat her out though, picking up a bagel, she smeared some cream cheese on it and looked for someone else to hit. Grinning, she threw the bagel into the air, hitting some random guy on the back. "It's on now!"

The guy turned around, a face full of anger holding a bowl of cereal as he threw the contents over the person on the next table. Emily stared, surprised at how quickly this was going. "Happy?" She picked up a slice of toast, spreading some peanut butter on it, Emily threw it behind her. Shouts were coming thick and fast and the teachers were beginning to notice SOMETHING.
