Never had Emily thought she would be in this situation. Without a career in check and hanging around Woodberg county looking for a job that was all her parents wanted to hear. When she was younger, she always imagined herself becoming a model, Emily always thought her dream would come true and her mother only encouraged it. Unfortunately when it came to her sixth year, she realised that she was still only five foot. Emily knew she would never make it to become a model; she was way too short to even think about it. Even though she loved being the photographer, the one behind the camera, it was entirely different being in front of it.

Now Emily was looking on at the house she had bought with Jake. It was perfect for them, enough space for them both to have time alone but not so much that it felt like a mansion. Although there was a problem whenever they wanted their friends around, there would never be enough seats for them all. For now, that wasn’t really a problem, everyone was too busy organising the changes in their new lives they didn’t exactly have time to have parties all the time. It was moving day for them both, they had organised what would go where but they hadn’t enough stuff to go everywhere. Jake was relying on Emily to do that, they both knew whatever Emily would get would be better than Jake getting any old thing because he wasn’t interested in finding it all.

She was stood on the porch having an intense think about her future, when she realised how stupid she probably looked. Staring off into the shards of glass on the door, Emily pushed the door open with her elbow, while holding onto a cardboard box labelled ‘FRAGILE!’. It was going to be nice having a place to herself, pretty much. Jake shouldn’t be that bad, he was her best friend and it wasn’t as if they’d be sat around the house much anyway. Emily had no idea what Jake was going to do job-wise, maybe he was just going to be a hobo. It wasn’t her problem, so long as he went food-shopping once in a while, while she was at work. Ruby would be round a lot too and wanting food at some point or another.

Emily walked through the tiny corridor, past the stairs and the cupboard under the stairs into the living room and into the small kitchen. She placed the box onto the counter and cast her eye around the room. It was empty, a few white cupboards above her head and below, an oven, a fridge, sink. The standard stuff. In the corner was a box full of stuff labelled ‘KITCHEN – EMILY’. It only held a few things, mugs, glasses and a kettle. She couldn’t be bothered to empty stuff out, so Emily was just putting it all in each room for now. The rest of the boxes were outside, and there was a whole lot more to come, without Jake around. That was just great.

Moving day! [Jake, friends etc] Empty Re: Moving day! [Jake, friends etc]

It was the end of the school year, who would have thought?! Jake couldn't believe everything that had happened just this year alone. He had grown up a lot since his first day at Oasis Hill Academy, the little boy that didn't have a clue to, Jake with the prettiest girl in the world who was also his best friend, with him. He was lucky, he didn't know what to do with his life. Until then, he knew he couldn't leave Ruby, so he decided to get a house. Of course, Jake knew he couldn't afford it alone, he knew Emily was looking for one too so he asked if he could be her room mate. They were best friends after all, and she was Ruby's friend too so it wasn't like Ruby would be funny about it. Sometimes girls were weird like that.

They had been looking for a few weeks, when the found a house that was just the right size. It seemed perfect, they decided which rooms were which, and who would have each bedroom. Fortunately they were of a similar size, they didn't want to have to fight over who had what. It was just a bit bare, hardly furnished, which was what Jake was doing at the moment. He was gathering up a few bits and pieces from his house, Emily had been doing the same. Although Emily was already at the house and unpacking, he was a little behind. At the moment, he was in his bedroom at his 'old' house chucking clothes everywhere. Things that he hadn't managed to take with him to Oasis Hill, when he spotted something on his nightstand.

It was a little photoframe, with many pictures inside. The most recent was a picture of him and Ruby, Chad and his sister and himself standing side by side. It was kinda lame but all the same. Jake picked it up, and placed it in a cardboard box filled with a few other random mementos. It would be cool having a house in Woodberg, it was still close to what he knew, he still had all his friends. Alec was right around the corner and most importantly, Ruby would always be able to visit. There had been a little dicussion about him and Ruby with Emily.

All she had told him was she didn't want to hear anything and there was no pda in front of her, Jake agreed so long as she did the same when she brought a date home. Emily just scoffed at him, he felt kinda bad, pretty much all of her best friends pretty much had some sort of relationship and she didn't have anyone at the moment. Jake decided then and there that he would try and find someone for her. There was another benefit, he would know the guy and he wouldn't find anyone douchey for her. Emily knew a couple of jerks and he didn't want that for her.

Jake suddenly realised the amount that he had packed, his room was almost empty and he didn't think he was finished. Shutting the trunk that was now filled with nearly everything he needed he took it downstairs, along with the cardboard box to his fireplace. Luckily, their house had already been connected to the floo network for easy transportation of their things. Placing the trunk in the fireplace, he grabbed a handful of floo powder while holding the box in the other hand. "8 Poppy Lane" The green flames enveloped him as he felt himself travel through until he saw an ash cloud. His feet firmly on the floor, with a cough he looked around "Em? I'm here?!" Jake dusted himself off and then looked at the ash that had flown about the room. "Crap."

Moving day! [Jake, friends etc] Empty Re: Moving day! [Jake, friends etc]

Ruby honestly didn’t know how much help she would be with Emily and Jake’s moving. She had never done any kind of work in her entire life. Actually, no that was a lie. She took care of her horse by herself. But other than that, Ruby had never done any kind of work in her entire life. The benefit of being a rich kid. So when Jake had asked her to pop around on the day that they were moving into their house, Ruby had stared at him like he was crazy. But he had asked her nicely, and as her boyfriend, so Ruby had agreed to drop around. Jake had warned Ruby to dress “appropriately”. Like he expected her to help or something. Ruby had stared at her wardrobe for a very long time, before deciding on an outfit that she deemed “appropriate”. Ruby’s definition of “appropriate” was obviously much different to Jake’s. But, Ruby had argued with her mother, the heels were much smaller than what she would usually wear. And Ruby could walk quite easily in them, having been brought up in all different sized heels. Ruby’s mother hadn’t had a comeback for that, so she’d let Ruby leave the house.

Ruby was now walking down the cobbled path towards the address her boyfriend had given her. She hadn’t seen the house before today. Jake hadn’t wanted her to see the house until they’d started getting things into it. When people had found out that Jake was moving in with Emily, people had asked Ruby if she was bothered by this fact. Ruby’s response was a simple raise of the eyebrow and a question of, “Why would I be?” And it was true. Ruby saw no reason to have a problem with her boyfriend living with her best friend. For that reason alone. Her boyfriend was living with her best friend. Emily was a great friend, and she would never do anything to hurt Ruby. And Jake knew that things would end badly for him if he was to do something to hurt Ruby. Emily had had a few ground rules about their living situation, however. She’d simply demanded that she didn’t hear anything that went on between the couple, and that the couple didn’t engage in PDA in front of her. Ruby could agree to those terms. Emily had been great at listening to Ruby’s sexual escapades when she’d been sleeping with complete strangers. But now she was sleeping with Jake. Jake was different. He was special. And Ruby, quite honestly, did not want anyone knowing just how special Jake was.

It only took about ten minutes to find the house. And Ruby was proud that she didn’t get lost, and that she didn’t have to ask for directions. Of course, Woodberg County was a small community, so hardly anyone got lost. As Ruby approached the house, she examined the outside. It was a cute little house, perfect size for the people who would be living in it. Ruby had been assured that there would be room for her to stay whenever she wanted, too. Ruby walked up to the door, and knocked twice before letting herself in. She had apparently arrived just in time to see her boyfriend arrive. The ash had gone everywhere. Ruby smiled and walked over to Jake. She glanced around quickly before leaning forward to plant a kiss on Jake’s lips. “Em, I’m here too. Come out from wherever you’re hiding, please”, Ruby called, looking around.

Moving day! [Jake, friends etc] Empty Re: Moving day! [Jake, friends etc]

Emily heard a noise coming from the living room, then "Em? I'm here?!". She poked her head out the side of the door, when she heard another voice, “Em, I’m here too. Come out from wherever you’re hiding, please”. Emily rolled her eyes, "I'm right here! You two aren't great at hide and seek" She saw waves of dust blowing out from the fireplace and Jake holding a box and a trunk. "You're cleaning that Jake, hi Ruby! What do you think of the place? Until Jake trashed it?" Emily walked over to the both of them, holding her arms out for the box. As she looked back at Ruby, Emily realised what she was wearing, "Er. Ruby? Are you going to be able to help wearing that?" She tried not to laugh, looking at what she was wearing, Emily felt like a scruffball.

She was wearing a pair of navy joggers and a white strappy top, with black converse. Ruby was wearing heels, as long as she could help, Emily shouldn't complain. "I've got more boxes outside but I haven't unpacked the one's I've brought in yet" Emily only had more boxes because she had bought everything the two of them needed. Jake wouldn't give her the box, Emily just rolled her eyes and walked away from the two of them, outside to get some more boxes. "Remember the PDA rule! I don't want to see it under this roof!" Emily laughed as she shouted it out behind her. She wondered how long it would take for the both of them to break that rule. Emily wasn't stupid but her two best friends, it made her feel like a third wheel at times too.

She walked through the house and outside, the clouds werre drawing in and it looked like it could rain any minute. It was grey there was still quite a bit outside. Picking up the heaviest boxes, Emily yelled back into the house, "It's going to rain and there's still alot out here!". Fortunately, her parents had visited that morning and between the three of them moved in her bed, sofa and a table in the corner of the living room. She swayed from side to side, huffing and puffing as she carefully carried the box in and dropped it at the bottom of the stairs. Emily had no idea what was in it, if it wasn't something important she was going to be very annoyed. She walked through into the living room and fell back onto the sofa. "This is so boring!"

Her legs were dangling over the floor, while her hair was covering most of her face. Emily had tied it in a scruffy ponytail but most of it had fallen out. "We have to get it all in" She mumbled.
